Ekranoplan
Ekranoplane is a hybrid between a ship and an airplane. This invention originated in Russia and spread throughout the world. It is faster than a ship and has a higher carrying capacity than an airplane. It exploits the benefits of the ground effect which is formed during low altitude flights above flat surfaces such as water bodies. High waves present a major problem, therefore its use remains limited.
Our task was to create a sports watercraft for two persons with great manouverability. This project concentrated mainly on the design solution with emphasis on an attractive visual expression for the presentation of the concept.
During this project we had the opportunity to exercise through to a conceptual drawing and gather valuable experience with presentations in front of large audiences.
