Make Magazine (content) + Esquire (layout) | Fall 2011
I was randomly given two completely different styles, and contents. The goal is to successfully mash together 2 magazines together, content from one magazine and layout style from another. Make magazine is a DIY tutorial guide book for everyday life. Esquire is a stylish men's magazine guiding them to live fuller, richer, more successful life. Evidently, Esquire is known for their creative editorial layout designs.
The process of this project was very tedios. I had to mimic the layout style as close as possible; same type, font points, strokes, colors, text and image placements. Literally studying the pages point by point, and the fine details of all the fonts on every page. After this project I gained great appreciation to editorial designers who put so much efforts on every page they layout.
