In 2010, Sub Rosa was engaged by GE to work on the 5 year anniversary of Ecomagination. In the program's first 5 years, GE spent millions of dollars and countless hours developing a suite of innovative and ecologically conscious programs, businesses, and products. Sub Rosa was asked to support the anniversary by curating a product installation in San Francisco showcasing 20 of the company’s most crowning achievements.
Working with collaborators from MIT Media Lab and NASA, Sub Rosa brought together some of the finest minds in the world to help build installations that took the showcase from simple product displays to full-on experiences.
Example: In order to showcase some of GE’s wind power innovations, we build a 15 foot long cloud that floated in the room and had data about wind power projected into it.
Example: To display some of the brand’s avionics innovations we worked with long-time friend and collaborator Aaron Koblin to install his Flight Paths artwork that is currently on display in New York’s MOMA.
These are just two of many curiosity piquing installations that helped bring the spirit of Ecomagination to life.
