"Eat Like a Local in Italy"
A Photo Communications project my third year at Auburn. We were told to choose an article and mimic the layout from a specific magazine so the article looked as if it actually came from the magazine. The article I choose was "Eat Like A Local In Italy." The second part of the project was to create two photomontages that describe the article. I displayed the article in two different ways. The first, I showed Italy as the food holding the country, all it's elements, joys, and senses. The second I showed the perspective of a tourist, how the wine, mountains, hillsides, monuments, and meats are enveloped into one trip, a series of moments. The tourist aspect is further shown through the iconic Tower of Piza. Instead of a random tourist holding it up, however, the man has turned into the meat and is pushing it over with something as simple as a poke. Take that metaphor however you like :)
