I stood on the piazza where I met with the world. I was surrounded by people of many cultures, with views of their own. Their talents were many. They cross-collateralized. All were pollinated by the nectar of art. They were orchestrated into a symphony of their best work abuzz like bees making their honey. The swarm embraced the queen who reminded me of a one-woman band, a magician smashing symbols together in front of her, playing the accordion with her hands and pumping with all her strength, singing with the harmonica at her mouth, whilst dancing to the music. There was a bracelet of jingle bells on her wrist that added to the cacophony and she not only invited but embraced the addition of any participant to integrate into the celebration. Amazing. And then there was the monkey who lunged forward at the crowd, squealing deliberately for the attention of all whom it would then direct to the experience of the performance. I am that monkey. I am only the messenger. Let me gather you around and ask you but for complete and undivided attention as I take your hand and lead you into the bowels of the artist’s playground.
