Projection Paintings
With this project I'm investigating the chemical basis for color at the microscopic scale through the use of Lantern Slides. Each image was painted on a Dichromated Gelatin plate 5x5cm. The chromium is an ideal medium since it has one the widest arrays of possible colors among its oxidation states. It is truly stunning to see every nuance of the forms and chemical reactions which create these paintings. When enlarged to over a hundred times their original scale its a sight to behold.
