Dunnes Stores wanted a new wayfinding and signage package to mark the reopening their original store in Patrick Street, Cork.
Working with DesignSquared, who designed the building and interiors, our objective was to create a signage package that built on the successes of previous stores, improved in- store navigation, and elevated the brand experience for customers across four floors.
We worked with simple principles: customers want to find what they want easily and quickly; retailers want products to stand out. Our process involved analysing the store layout, traffic flow, key locations and signage opportunities. We reviewed all existing graphics and signage and recommended improvements in the typography and colour palette to introduce a simpler, easy-to-follow signage hierarchy. The simplified design and restrained use of color worked to elevate the Dunnes brand identity.
