Short movie 'Dune X' interactive landscape by Studio Roosegaarde

The interactive artwork 'Dune X' by Daan Roosegaarde, artist and founder of renowned Studio Roosegaarde, is known for its high-tech, tactile appeal to human intuition. Being 42 Metres in lenght, Dune X visibly reacts to the behaviour of people that come into close proximity. Hundreds of sensors detect motion, and optical fibers dim and brighten in response to the movements of people passing by. Dune X is a true hybrid of nature and technology.

Dune X can be 'experienced' in Cockatoo Island’s Dogleg Tunnels during the 18th Biennale of Sydney, 28 June - 16 September. However Roosegaarde has created an official short film ‘Dune X’ for those unable to attend: “The goal of the short film was to visualize the ‘techno-poetry’ that emerges as a result of the connection between ideology and technology. I think we did a good job: the film reminds me of a real-life ‘Alice in techno-land’.”
