Artist Pam Longobardi needed to create an artist catalog of her recent ‘Drifters’ series to be exhibited at the Venice Biennale. Construction for the catalog was based on the idea of water, rooted in Longobardi’s process, where the book could be read in either forward or reverse. This construction lends a sculptural quality to the catalog that complement’s the artist’s work. Visuals were taken from various works in the ‘Drifters’ series, along with relevant concept words. Both the visuals and concept phrases hide either underneath the book contents or reside along the edges. Allowing the reader to uncover new information as they flow through the catalog.
