Background and character creation and illustration
Creation of style of the characters based on the real ones from the movie Kung Fu Panda 2 for Dreamworks' longest parade ever!
Using Facebook connect the Kung Fu Panda Facebook Parade pulls in each and every one of your friends profile pics to appear in the parade, along with the furious five. Once the parade is running, hovering your mouse over any person lets you take a photo that can be instantly shared on their wall, inviting them to join the parade. It’s a cute idea that has plenty of potential!
Using the villagers as inspiration, I created all these characters, backgrounds and different elements. The idea was to create a "paper cut" style animation that would not interfere with the full 3D dreamworks animations and that would work with no problems on a complicated website. Here is the process and the result. Hope you like it! Dreamworks did and so did Kung Fu Panda and his friends!

Background for action
The idea was to have the action in an ancient Chinese village. Using red and earth color palette, I created the background. A little investigation of the style that would fit and the architecture of chinese buildings and the setting started to take form. For performance and animation issues the illustration had to be prepared to possibly move it as the action would start. Again, everything is vector and worked Illustrator CS4.
