This door/wall was made using three solid-core doors on the horizontal. Before I assembled the doors, I routed a small bevel on all sides so that when joined they would have a reveal detail between the panels, this I felt kept the whole panel from looking overwhelming because of how large the whole thing is. My client wanted privacy between her home office and her bedroom without using a regular hinged door, she also wanted something that when open would blend with the wall, she had also envisioned something that blended with the wall enough that she could even hang a painting on it, finally, she wanted something she could easily open and close. All this was solved with the use of heavy duty sliding door hardware by Hafele all covered up with a painted plywood valance.
