HACKING SPOTIFY IN A LOVING AND COMPELLING WAY

2012
RAPP wanted to showcase its digital capabilities during Valentine’s Day. So we were tasked with finding a fun way to do it. We created Don Cupido, a washed out cupid mariachi that lost faith in true love. To restore Don Cupido’s belief, we asked users to post a message with a song (hacked from Spotify, recently launched in the US) directly on their loved one’s Facebook wall. The more serenades were shared, the more Don Cupido got his hopes back that true love still existed.

The site was a heartfelt tribute to Latin culture in America, referencing old-style Mexican cantinas, and using hand-drawn graphics and rustic accents to bring Don Cupido’s playful character to life in a bold, vibrant and loving way.
