Dokkae Tower (Saudi Arabia) / Carbon fibre clock hands

  • King Abdul-Aziz is building the Dokkae Tower in Mecca (Saudi Arabia). This project involves the last 200 meters of the uppermost part of this prestigious tower.
    It includes the biggest clock in the world of 43 meter diameter.
    The composite cladding will be of Carbon/Glass fibre covered with Italian mosaic tiles; of which 13,000 square meters is with gold mosaic. The total cladding is 35,000 square meters!!
    The clock face is done in Glass fibre/Epoxy sandwich laminate, and more than 600,000 Led's are integrated into the composite cladding to light up the clock face by night.
    The clock hands, which are up to 23 Meter long are built in Carbon fibre, and again lit up with Led’s.
