I wanted to talk about something and hope that people learn a little about working in a business setting and how sometimes it works in and out of your favor.
I was asked to be a part of a story board team that was to assemble boards for a diversity loop that would be shown at trade shows. I put a lot of time and work into the product that I put out as I wanted to make a good impression and I also wanted the work.
My ideas never really got off the ground as my boards weren't used as a lack of imagery. I was pretty bummed, I won't lie and the final piece was a mash up of some of my work and another design, which I'm never a fan of.
The point of the story is you never know what people are going to like. You may work on a piece that you think is money in the bank and it gets to the client or the account team or sales or someone who's not as into it. It may never even make it out of the building in some cases.
Thick skin is the best advice I can give.
Either way, I decided to animated the pieces I had as far as I had boarded them.
