I was commissioned to develop a typographic based illustration for the cover of Issue 66 of Engadget's tablet magazine Distro. The cover line I was asked to use was "2012 Holiday Gift Guide", with a secondary line "100+ Ways To Please A Geek".

 

The issue features reviews on Laptops & Ultraportables, Gaming, e-readers, Smartphones, audio and docks, Digital cameras etc so my response was create the type from the kinds of cables that would be associated with the transference of digital data and arrange the cables in a manner that might be associated with a circuit board.
