The brief for this project was to design and create a direct mail campaign for Old Mac Daddy luxury trailer park in Cape Town, South Africa. The concept behind this project was that everyone has good camping memories, but the work involved in going camping spoils the whole holiday. OMD offers you the same camping nostalgia without all the fuss, making it an even better experience and way cooler than going camping.
Throughout the direct mailer I focused on all the ridiculous aspects of going camping and highlighted how staying at Old Mac Daddy is so much better en more convenient.
The direct mail campaign has 4 phases - an invitation in the shape of a trailer inviting the recipient to come stay at Old Mac Daddy (1). A poster and brochure about the ridiculousness of camping and what Old Mac Daddy offers alternatively. This is sent to the recipient after he/she contacts OMD and is interested in staying there (2). The third phase is the confirmation of booking phase, these elements are sent to the recipient once their booking at OMD is confirmed. It includes a ‘what not to pack’ coaster catalogue, confirmation of booking luggage tag and a map explaining the directions. (3). The final phase of the campaign is a trailer gift box and do not disturb door sign (4). The gift box is something the visitor can take home to commemorate their stay at Old Mac Daddy and comes with a wooden key to symbolise how easy it is to stay at Old Mac Daddy.
