This project explored themes inspired by Mohawk's Carnival line of papers. Using the name and colors as a jumping off point, I created a metaphor for the digital age: social networking as a "Digital Sideshow." As Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube dominate our lives and turn us into attention seekers, how far will we go to be in the center ring? How long before our behavior turns us into freaks? The book is broken into three sections analyzing the dangers of lives completely on display, with each section personified by extreme social networking personalities: The Obsessive Updater, The Camera Whore, and the The Lurker.
Visually and typographically, the book juxtaposes the elements of a traditional carnival against those of the digital age.
