These pieces were my answer to the D&AD Diesel brief, which involved creating an "illustrated interpretation of a musical track that is experienced by the viewer in an unconventional and pioneering way". I chose to blend the traditional media of music (vinyl records) with the modern equivalent ( MP3's). Most modern records come with a free piece of card carrying a code for a free MP3 version of the album, these are just small pieces of card however and i wanted to change that. My idea revolves around the idea of obtaining the MP3 code in an interactive way through illustration. I chose the band The Horrors as they convey the spirit of my approach blending old sounds with the new. The two songs i picked were 'Jack the Ripper' and 'Sheena is a Parasite' both of their first album. I also made a prototype based on the Best Coast song, 'Sun was high (So was I)'.
