In Rural China, school is a key place for learning, which is important to rural children who want to break out of poverty. Unfortunately in most rural areas, children are constantly struggling to study in run down schools with poor facilities.
In some areas students even have to carry their own desks and chairs to the school due to shortage of supply. Images taken by myself during a site visit to rural schools in Guangxi Huaiji Village. Pictures show the poor quality furnitures used in rural school.
In view of their financial difficulties, designer has exerted every effort to keep the production cost as low as possible so that the products can be sold for charity purpose/sponsorship and more students can reap the benefit of his design.

The set of table & chair is constructed with Monoblock parts, which can be stacked for shipping and space saving at the same time reducing the shipping cost. The design has thoroughful consideration on cost effectiveness, mass production, anthropometry of Chinese students, user experience, etc.
