This project involved designing a book for "Design and the Play Instinct" by Paul Rand. We were limited to designing the book in black and white, using one typeface of our choice, and not altering the copy or images and refraining from reordering them. I chose to use PMN Caecilia as my typeface because I found it very versatile in all the weights and both upright and italic styles, and I wanted to challenge myself in designing a book exclusively with a slab-serif typeface. I used a landscape format on the page because It allowed me to be more dynamic with my grid and it gave a catalgoue-style experience while reading the book. Read Less
