While working at iTVk, our main client, McGraw Hill Education, had us work on a number of animated lessons for their online teaching resources. They wanted a break from the usual way we had been illustrating the lessons up to that point, and I was called upon to devise some characters and objects in a totally new style. These are character designs I created for an animation about economic principles that was set to take place in a doctor’s office.

Some early ideas for the characters above
In addition to storyboards, I also created assets that would be used in final animations. Here is a smattering of pooches for a story about starting a dog walking business. Below are two backgrounds for different videos–a relaxing pool at a resort and a neighborhood farmers’ market.

A set of images illustrating how a flipped classroom works. Created for McGraw Hill’s Connect online learning resources.

Below is a selection of personal illustrations using a variety of techniques, including colored pencil, pen and ink, digital coloring, and hand drawn type.
