As leaders in the medical industry, The University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic, have joined forces in creating, Minnesota Partnership for Biotechnology and Medical Genomics. Since their start in 2003, the Partnership is now beginning their biggest medical initiative, conquering diabetes in ten years. They have aptly name this initiative the Decade of Discovery. It goes without saying, I was quite thrilled to be a part of such a huge undertaking. At this point, the two main goals of the site are to build awareness, and aid the board in receiving funding from congress for their research. This was achieved by providing ample information about diabetes and the mission of Decade of Discovery, but also through the ability for users to share personal stories, help spread the word, and join the movement.
