De nieuwe digitale wereld

The future of the city may change, now more and more things we did there are done digitaly instead of physically. For example think about the growth in shopping online, or the fact we don't use physical banks as much anymore because of online banking.
This book shows the posibility's of the new physical city when internet changes how we use the city and the physical space that comes with that. I took a km2 of the center of Rotterdam and ordered the shops, restaurants, etc in different cattegories like: food, electronics, sports, fashion, etc. With every category I show the reader how much buildings are involved in this categorie, how much of those already use the internet and in wich you can order/shop online, where the are located and how much physical space it cost. Finally between the spread that shows the city now, I've put a smaller collored spread which gives an idea in what we can do with that physical space if it all went digital. These ideas are in writing, encompanied with a small infograph or illustration wich may give an extra look at the idea and its possibility's.
During the book the map shown at every right page see's the physical city being erased category by category. And the end of the book the city only consists of houses and is open for new posibility's for a new city.
