Sketches
 

I had to make a portrait of a eccentric character so I wrote different lists of what to me represented the eccentricity, including kings, puppeteers, magicians and more. With the advance of these little fast sketches, I defined an unified image of the eccentricity, which included interesting aspects of each previous characters.

Essentially the final sketch was based on natural elements, considering Mother Nature as the most eccentric entity par excellence. I mean, she spends time creating flowers, plants and animals of many colors, textures and flavors. Also, I added the opulence that can be found in objects from the nobility as headdresses, crowns, scepters and jewelry among others.

A partir de la palabra excéntricos, se debía realizar un retrato de algún personaje extraño por lo que escribí distintas listas de lo que para mí representaba la excentricidad, incluyendo reyes, titiriteros, magos entre otros. Con el avanzar de estos pequeños esbozos rápidos, se fue definiendo y formando una imagen unificada de la excentricidad, que incluía aspectos que consideré interesantes de cada uno de estos personajes.

Básicamente el boceto final se fundamentó en elementos naturales, tomando en cuenta a la Madre Naturaleza como el ente más excéntrico por excelencia, al crear flores, plantas y animales de muchos colores, texturas y sabores. A ello se le suma la opulencia que se puede encontrar en objetos propios de la nobleza como tocados, coronas, cetros y joyas entre otros.
