This is the De Stijl Chair inspired by the Dutch art movement of the same name. The movement was made known to me when I first bought a White Stripes album - also called De Stijl. The movement used very strong, bold lines and combined white, black, red yellow and blue.
My design looks complicated - but is relatively simple. It was showcased at the 2007 graduate degree show at the University of Wolverhampton when I was still in the second year.
The seat is painted Arctic White and the frame is powder-coated matt black. The design is unique due to the angles within the frame. The armrests were made detachable to allow interchangeable laminates.
