- The wind blows your soul to the earth, it’s talking to us but we have forgotten how to listen. We are not better than nature. Nature is un-biased, it just is. It’s not bad or good. It just is. But it is beautiful, the animals, the plants, the trees with their arms out stretched to the heavens. Surrendering to the divine power of the universe. Such energy. The surrender of melancholy in the light of dawn. Melancholy surrenders her sharp pin prick fingers. She loosens her grip. Weaker and weaker she becomes and light, the bright warmth of light heals the wounds. Its warm and soft. Lighter than it was before. No weight at your core. Your eyes can open fully. It’s as though the sun is shinning from your chest.Melencholy - she once consumed me, I felt I had become her and that was my reality but it was all smoke and mirrors. I am meant to be full of light. I deserve to be full of light. The darkness cannot consume me any more. I am not afraid. I show her no fear, because I know her - I have lived with her, I have argued, cried then wept in her arms. I’ve let her hold me close, I’ve even felt comfort in her arms. But I walk away having learned a good lesson, having fought a good fight.
She can be a mean mistress, dark as a dog with such a screech of a bark. She ripples through the darkness. Through this darkness I am able to see the brightest of lights. Having waded through misty blackness and because of this hum I feel free. I feel alive. I feel a love for life that didn’t exist before. But the hand that reached for me in that blackness, the hand I couldn’t see, was the hand of nature. The wind blew me in the right direction, the trees guided me with their branches and sheltered me from the storms. The earth gave me footing when I believed there was none. The rain cleansed my soul until I was ready for the moon to light my path into the light and warmth of my rebirth. To feel the earth with me fingers and toes, to just sit and to pay attention to the sensations on my cheek as the wind passed by. To hide under the tree to be sheltered from the summers rain. Watch the animals and listen to the birds sing. Smell the blossom and fall into the mud. Watch the clouds and track the full moon. Heal yourself with the herbs and flowers from the garden. The sunset and the sunrise is different everyday. From darkness to wonder.
