Damien Hirst

Description: A poster and accompanying brochure for a (fake) retrospective of Damien Hirst’s work at the Walter’s Art Museum in Baltimore Maryland.
Objective: To research and study the process of an assigned artist and from that, create a poster and catalogue according to their ideas and processes.
Solution: The concept for the poster came from combining three of Hirst’s most well known subjects; skulls, grids of dots and spin paintings. The piece reflects his work and his conceptual ideas with out directly copying or using his work. The accompanying catalogue shows pieces of his work in a minimalist design to prevent cluttering and taking away from his work.

Typeface: Helvetica CY and Baskerville
Software: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Dimensions: Poster: 19” by 24”
