OO7 Dressed to kill
With a great deal of my inspiration coming from films and fashion, I decided to put my
knowledge to the test and dissect what it is about James Bond that has made it such a
successful franchise. Throughout the years we have seen a wide spectrum of actors take
the mantle such as Roger Moore, Sean Connery and most recently Daniel Craig, each
bringing their own distinct style of acting to the role.
I really wanted to find what made each of the films different, so different that it fuels a
thirst for people to keep coming back for more - year after year. To begin with I started
to look at the glamorous locations and settings, the style of Bonds, their gadgets and
even their cars, but I still wasn't close to finding the hook that pulls us all in.
After taking a step back and looking at the villains, I began to notice the biggest change
was not just the villains personas - but it was something about their attire that became
embedded in our minds as an icon after watching each film.
The work below is part of an ongoing illustrative study of the different Bond Villain attires.
Can you name them all?
