DRAGON PAPER-CUT
This paper cut was derived from an inspiration of dragon dance music heard from across the road. I decided to go with plain black paper for this paper cut as the usual red ones were a tad too red. This entire artwork took me about two days to complete and ended up with sore eyes and aching hands but glad the suffering hours of efforts paid off with a finalized detailed piece.
- finalized drawing in pencil before cutting the image.
- started with slicing out the scales on the dragon's body.
- patiently and carefully slicing the thin lines on the dragon's tail.
- changes had to be made throughout the cutting process, including erasing the lines and re-drawing them so as to be able to connect the small pieces together, in order for them not to flap up.
- THE FINAL ARTWORK :)
- close up of the paper-cut.
I hope you've enjoyed browsing through the process & the final artwork :)
