“D19” is a product of 2012 Winter Semester Media Theory course taught by Suzy Joseph (editor in chief) to 7th semester Applied Arts students in the German University in Cairo. A team of 10, including students and teachers, joined forces to edit and design a selection of students’ article assignments to transform into a tangible memory we chose to call D19; “D” standing for “Design” and “19” standing for 19-dashers, 7thsemester students’ common ID code. The Pharonic theme was inspired by a Nile cruise trip Suzy Jospeh made recently between Luxor and Aswan; “pure catharsis, and a lovely reminder of how beautiful Egypt could be away from the hustle and bustle of Cairo” she stated. Our part was only designing the layout of the magazine.
