Beautiful horses have always fascinated me. I love their fluid forms and movement. I am inspired by classical horse sculptures from 19 century European art. I studied horse anatomy and mechanics of their gaits, to depict horse's movement correctly.
The statues you see here are just examples of the variety of breeds and poses.

"Bucking Naked". Arabian horse sculpture. Bronze . Limited edition.
I wanted to depict the playful quality Arabian horses possess. The bronze is finished with silver patina and mounted on black onyx with walnut base.
"Freedom". Thoroughbred horse sculpture. Bronze. Limited edition.
This sculpture makes me think of a sweeping wind and exhilarating feeling we have when riding a horse. The color was chosen to remind of a flame, free and untamed like a young horse.

This piece reminds me of Medieval warriors and times of chivalry. The bronze is mounted on a black onyx base.

The photo shows its initial location at the carriage entrance to the mansion. A couple of years later the bronze was moved to the garden area, where it was placed among trees and flowering shrubs, on the east side of McCune Mansion.
