Curvilinear Studies with Colored Pencil Interpretation

CURVILINEAR STUDIES
One Week, April 2013
Clay, Spray Paint, Wire, and Wood
Experiment with basic shapes and compositional balance, creating dominant, sub-dominant, and subordinate relationships. In each arrangement, utilize plane, volume, and line.

EXPRESSION DRAWINGS
One Week, April 2013
Prismacolor Pencil, Ink
Goal: Create an alternative image of the form studies.
Response: These drawings were inspired by Wayne Thiebaud's "Woman and Cosmetics" painting (scroll to bottom). These forms, though static in their final display, encountered continuous movement and change in their creation from clay. I hope to capture the excitement and fun that went into making them with these drawings.
