This class assignment involved a methodological thinking process of creating gridforms by either adding black or subtracting black from an original grid pattern. I then conducted a color study with the grid forms, analyzing the positive and negative parts of the composition. Using the concept of currency as natural equity, I then applied my grids to a new form of currency that would create state chartered money as positive equity instead of borrowed on debt. This form of currency would be dispersed at first for public construction projects for the betterment of society, then could be traded for various goods and services until it would eventually overtake the current monetary system. Because I am from Ohio, I included what I consider to be the most influential thought leaders in Ohio's history to be represented on the bank notes.
