Years ago, I bought some discounted shutters from a lumberyard just up the street from me. I finally found a way to use them. I cut down some rough-sawn pine from my mom's farm for the body of this piece to accommodate the shutters. To top the piece, I found a great piece of tan-colored crab orchard at the local stoneyard. The shelves are really old, thin pieces of cedar. I used the room's wall paint, watered down, to make a "milk paint" for it all. Otherwise, full-strength paint would have hidden the beautiful saw marks in the pine.
