Earlier this year a friend of mine had a gathering on the beachfront. It was a wild location north coast at the Tugela river mouth. We gathered debris from the shoreline and made this wavelike form, it started small but it grew quickly with more and more hands joining in. Later that evening we ignited it and watched as the flames consumed our sacrificial collaboration. We danced and the embers kept burning deep into the night.
