Creative Expression - Where I started

This is my beginning
ohh the thrill of Air Art
In 2005, I won a airbrush in a competition, at this stage I am a fashion designer, and the only medium available was indian ink and fabrics, I started to practice to use this alien object, and was mesmerised and completely addicted to the outcomes.

From there I pinched my daughters school acrylic paints, thinned with water and just went mad. (Picture 1 & 2) are my first, originally one piece, but decided to box out into two. I could not believe what this airbrush could do, it was like carving, I could create such depth and then brilliant high-lights, I was besotted, and painted 16hours a day perfecting my creation.

Little did I know at the time, that I had created a technique 100percent opposite to how airbrush is supposed to work, from the normal layer upon layer effect, my work was blended, and the detail I achieve apparently is not supposedly possible. But there you have it.

Picture 3 is one of my latest works, showing where I am now, this piece is currently for sale, and showing in the Dog Gallery, Arts Depot in Devonport. It was painted to show the aerial view of the Kaipara River, and all the treasures within, until it reaches the harbour.
