Creating UX Policy

As an employee of Virginia Interactive, a subsidiary of NIC Inc, our sole client was the Commonwealth of Virginia.  When the Governor asked for us to head up creating a Web Policy for the executive branch, I was put in charge of writing that policy based on UX data and accessibility standards.
Even though the document has gone through many revisions, it is still in use by the Executive Branch today.
In order to compile the data for the initial document, I ran several user studies on Virginia government sites, as well as collected the current research on accessibility and Web Best Practices.
After creating the original draft of the document, I was put in charge of leading the workgroup of stakeholders that created the final version.
I was considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for UX issues when it came to eGovernment, a field I helped pioneer with my work at NIC Inc.
