Book Cover Redesign

We were asked to choose a book with interesting content but poor cover design and redesign the cover. At Day’s Close by A. Roger Ekirch is about the history of night time in western society, before electric lighting. The book was quite information heavy, so I wanted to keep the cover design quite simple yet relative to its content. I used a circle to represent the moon. Playing with composition, and also with the contrast of black and white to represent the night sky.
