The computer punch card letters were made from a stack of computer punch cards. The punch cards were taped to cover the back of a board over the entire surface. Then I taped more punch cards onto the surface of the board at an angle curving some of the cards. Then it was simply a matter of photographing the cards at the right angle to simulate the changes in line width seen in calligraphy drawn with a broad nib. It is also of note that there is an allusion to the monotype lead casting process that used punch cards to enter the data used for the process.
