The cult of the body comes from the Antiquity, of Old Greece. The Greek believed that the esthetics and the physicist were as important as the intellect in the search for perfection. Thought translated by the sentence "mens sana in corpore sano", meaning "mind healthy in body healthy."
Nowadays, that concerns this more than present. With the constant "obligation" of fitting in the ideals and exaggerating patterns of beauty imposed by the society and the industry of the fashion, the valorization of the perfect body became a global obsession. He/she grows up a bigger search for having the "perfect" body, unchaining a transformation more and more common in each individual's physicist. With this situation was “born” the complex towards our body.Now we have an object-body that it will be submitted to surgeries and several transformations to fit in the beauty patterns. Portraying, specifically, the complex of the belly area, being the women the more common target to that complex, I intend to demonstrate the suffering and mutilations that the human being is willing to execute on his/her own body to fit in those beauty patterns.
