Assignment
After a Brainstorm with two other students, we decided to invent a new communication device for deaf people. The new product consists of a pair of glasses (used by the deaf) and the communication.
The communication device is equipped with the kinect hardware. The sign language (gestures) of the deaf can be read and translated to a voice or text output. the glasses have a display function allowing the deaf to read the conversation. On the front of the frame, leds are installed that light up at the time that the camera can read the gestures.
The new device makes it possible for deaf people to communicate with persons who are not familiar with sign language. An extra feature is the possibility to communicate though a cell phone.
