Commissioned Digital Portraits (photoshop mix)

The Birth of DigiPorts!!!

In January 2010 a friend, Afia Malik (afia mafia) came up with a great idea. She wanted me to Illustrate and Design a Poster Sized Digital Portrait of her husband, placing him in his fantasy environment.
It was her valentine's gift to him.

It was the beginning of something new and fun, and below here are 3 results, that further branched out from the root of the idea that she planted..

Adeel's Urban Jungle - 2010
Adeel's Urban Jungle. 2010

This was my first digital portrait commisioned project.

Afia, approached me, and asked me if I could design a poster of her husband, in his favourite environment as his favourite character Tony Montana.

....she gave me a list of music he likes, types of cars he likes,  drinks :whisky ...everything.
And a few of his pictures too...

So I took up one of the pictures, redrew it to suit the angel  and perspective I wanted, and mixed up images from the net pertaining to his tastes.

It was the most fun I had, I even made a Desperate Housewives  inspired card for her!

She had the digital potrait, printed on matte textured photopaper, and had it framed as a poster, in their living room!

Furqan through the city - 2011
Furqan in the city. 2011

This was an anniversary gift from his wife.

She told me about his love for acting and directing, and  how he loves immersing him self in the local tradiotional roles.
So I made mix of Desi and Retro mix of colors and visuals of the Pakistani cinema of yore.

I popped in a poster of her dancing as the main heroine of a local cult pulp Hero film.
As she is an American Citizen, I tried to mix in the vibe with the concrete gray train interior I took from the internet.

She later had it printed in a huge Film Poster size format and framed it.
He liked it =)
Marathon Rehan (?)
(never completed - these are just rough drafts of a tryptich i was Suposed to work on)
Marathon Rehan

It was supposed to be his 40th birthday present. Representing his love for Chicago and the love of Marathons.
Unfortunately the project never got completed.

It was supposed to be a triptych with 3 aspects of his personality, during a Marathon.
