This project required hands-on involvement as a prepress production manager. I administered the print supplier qualification press run for a wide web W&H press, applying color management utilizing fingerprint and characterization files for capturing spectrophotometer data readings. An ICC profile was created in order to reproduce press characteristics on an Epson digital inkjet printer while utilizing GMG rip software. This art was generated as four-color process.
Press printing configurations for this project include:
• W&H 20"x48"" Flexo Printing Press
• Yellow, Cyan, Magenta, Black and White Flood
• 800 Line Anilox, 60º, 2.2 Ink Volume
• Dupont DPL .067" Plates
• .60” Cushion Mount
• Reverse Print
• AQS Clear Polypropylene
• Angles – Yellow 83˚, Cyan 38˚, Magenta 68˚, Black 8˚
• Circular Dot
• 110 & 120 LPI
This flexo press production run was approved with no problems. Checking spectrophotometer data tolerances press side helped automate the press verification.
