This coffee table was constructed with one sheet of 1" Baltic Birch plywood, dowels and glue. Seriously. The finished dimensions are 18x18x36. The challenge of building this table was to make all of its 49 pieces fit on one standard piece of plywood, in order to reduce waste and conserve material. The outcome is a table that looks like it used a lot of wood- but in reality was very material conscious and thoughtfully planned. Additionally, each rib is laid out on the plywood to achieve a flowing and matching wood grain, which would smoothly transition between the sides and surface. The incredible accuracy of the cnc router made assembling this puzzle-like table a cinch.
