- Evolution of an Idea
While studying graphic design in college, I realized one thing about the field: it's personal. Over the years, my idea of who I am and what I represent has transformed, yet I've held to the idea that it's not my design that matters most but rather who I am, where I am from, and what I stand for. 
Being from Kauai, the rainbow suits as an icon and represents a promise to unique, fresh, quality work.
This was projected onto a wall during my Graphic Design show in April of 2009. Fresh, Unique, and Creative were words that I used to market myself. The blending colors created flowers, another idea that points to my Hawaiian roots.
When my wife and I cut open this persimmion and saw that it was indeed beautiful inside, I couldn't help but photograph it! Persimmions are often refered to as the "divine fruit" or "God's pear."
I went into Photoshop and cut out the persimmion to be used as the icon for the evolution of my freelance business, now named Cody and Chelsea Creative.
We coined the slogan "Collaboration Made Sense" and ran with the idea that two is better than one.- Instead of replacing it, I vectorized the photo of the persimmion to create an more versatile and timely icon.
- All the C-words that end in -ive. A conglomerative bunch!
