Coconut Glen's
Branding and Package Design

For the past six years Glen has been selling coconut products at a stand in Maui. I was lucky enough to visit him and experience how the business is run. Glen and I collaborated to create Coconut Glen's on a professional level. Responsibilities included creating an identity and branding. Created package design for candy and ice cream container, developed and designed the company website, hand silk-screened T-shirts, and designed exhibitions for showcasing the company.
To express the real Coconut Glen I illustrated a person that captured the same look and personality as the real Coconut Glen. I wanted to give him a humanistic character that he carries along with a Hawaiian native feel. Creating a hawaiian shirt in colorful hawaiian colors captured the essence of Hawaii along with Glen's retro 70s attitude. Showing him with a hanging loose type body language holding a bamboo sign added the perfect touch to the identity.
For the showcase I wanted to design an environment that would resemble the coconut stand in Maui but also have the design incorporated as well. Using only recyclable materials it was constructed with mostly wood, burlap, bamboo, and other assets to help the design. I used the same color palette throughout the vertical slats, palm leaves, and the Hawaiian design on the table top.
