The Marchese Coccapani label was born out of the Ferrari family’s passion for art and architecture. The lengthy restoration of the eighteenth century villa adjacent to the company, and which at one time belonged to the noble Coccapani family, was finished in 1988, and the idea came spontaneously to create a new line which, with the advantage of such a particular name, could become popular and renowned all over the world with a determined style, very feminine, and typically Italian. 1993 was an important year for the label, when the top-model Claudia Schiffer was chosen to feature in the advertising campaign for the autumn-winter season. The collection was extremely successful and was the start of a rewarding working relationship with the top-model which lasted for almost seven years, during which different advertising campaigns were launched with important photographers, such as Helmut Newton, André Rau and Michelangelo Di Battista.
In 1997 the label made its debut on the catwalk for the Milan female collection, and was very well received. In the following years the label was modelled by famous actresses and models such as Sabrina Ferilli, Valeria Marini, Eva Herzigova, Megan Gale and Adriana Sklenarikova.
In 2000 the brand opened a prestigious show room in Milan, Via Della Spiga 46, from which are organised the sales both to Italian and foreign customers.
The year 2002 marks an important turning point: Giorgio Ferrari, the creator of the label, decided to give a new impulse to the development and international nature of the trademark, heavily modifying the style of the collections, giving them a much stronger and more modern feel. The trademark was consequently shortened and became simply COCCAPANI.
In the year 2005 the company has created a new collection named Coccapani Trend.
