Lots of care had gone into the design of our website - cleanliness, ease of use, functionality, and it's intended purpose as a portfolio display/private client access portal. But technology never sits still.
One of the main issues we ran into was client convenience. Our website did its job well but did not read as easily as it should on smaller smartphone displays. It often required some pinching, zooming, and careful input on non-tactile keypads.
With many of clients on the road constantly, it made sense to develop a method for them to review projects on the go - at the airport, in the hotel, etc. Our mobile website was designed from the ground up in-house to bridge the gap between our web presence and the latest smartphones, such as the iPhone and Droid.
The clockwork-media.com domain will now detect the user's browser and feed the mobile or desktop site automatically, matching the device used to access the site. Optimized for iOS & Android devices, the mobile website uses larger text, a simple single column design, resized images for faster loading, script removals, integration with native video apps like YouTube, and a resized client login menu. The user is free to switch between the site versions as well with a link at the bottom.
