Summer Concert Series Buttons
 2012
Created to promote the City of Akron's Summer Concert Series, these buttons were also given to patrons who showed their support by donating to the program. I was inspired by the "I Love (tire) Akron" ad, which features a red tire instead of a heart, alluding to Akron's legacy as the Rubber Capital of the World. I chose to feature musical instruments like the guitar, saxophone, trumpet, and bongo drum, because of their obvious role ion the Summer Concert Series, as well as the more subtle message that Akron is more cultured than just its industrial past. The four background colors are pulled from the Akron Arts Expo logo, a very prominent event for the City of Akron's Recreation Bureau, who hosts these outdoor concerts. 
Department of Neighborhood Assistance
 2012
The newly formed Department of Neighborhood Assistance was created to better serve the residents of the City of Akron, and includes divisions like the 311 Call Center, Housing, Nuisance Compliance, and the recreation Bureau. While these divisions are very important to maintaining the quality of life that residents expect, the department needed a more approachable face. By including lighter hues and photos of events in the community, a connection is made between the role of the department and how it brings value to each resident's life.
