We were asked to deliver a
dealer locator application that could be plugged into any number of Chrysler
international market sites. The application would need to accommodate various
size markets, different dealer services and unique country geographies. The
dealer locator also needed to be included on mobile sites and with markets that
didn’t have (or didn’t want) a fully functioning Google map plug in.
As the wireframes show,
I’ve designed the entry point, error states and full search result experience.
I also built out mobile functionality with the features that are relevant to
the mobile user. For markets where the map is not available or not useful, I
created a simple list view page, which is also useful for search engine
optimization.
This project was very
collaborative and I worked closely with the international stakeholders seeking
their input at every stage. The intent was to give them a sense of ownership,
to make them feel that they were involved in the design process and their voice
was heard so that their user’s needs are met. This approach made for a
successful launch and many markets adopted the dealer locator and launched it
on their sites.
